How Do Fixed-Odds Prediction Markets Work for Sportsbooks?
Adkuu Pulse turns an AI probability into ready-to-use fixed odds: a risk model shapes it, the operator's margin formula prices it, and the sportsbook is the book.
In a fixed-odds prediction market the sportsbook is the book: it posts a price on a real-world question, takes the bet at that price and manages its own exposure, exactly as it does on a football match, rather than matching one customer against another the way a peer-to-peer exchange does. Adkuu Pulse supplies that price. For every market it delivers an AI probability shaped by a risk model (flow-weighting, liability, staleness, circuit breakers), then ready-to-use fixed odds priced with a margin formula the operator controls, with automated multi-tier resolution and delivery over REST, WebSocket and gRPC in days.
From probability to price
| Step | What Adkuu Pulse does | What the operator controls |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Question | Curates questions on politics, crypto, tech, culture, science and local events from 5+ prediction platforms and regional news; structures operators' free-text "Magic Questions" into markets | Which categories and questions to carry; Magic Question ideas |
| 2. AI probability | Produces a probability for each outcome | — |
| 3. Risk model | Shapes that probability with flow-weighting, liability, staleness and circuit breakers | — |
| 4. Margin formula | Converts the shaped probability into fixed odds | The margin formula itself |
| 5. Delivery | Pushes ready-to-use odds over REST, WebSocket and gRPC | Presentation, acceptance, limits in its own book |
| 6. Resolution | Resolves automatically: data API, then web search, then consensus, with human review as fallback | Settlement with its own players from its own wallet |
The operator is the book, not the matchmaker
On a peer-to-peer exchange such as Polymarket or Kalshi, customers trade event contracts against each other and the price is whatever the order flow says it is; the platform matches and clears. On a fixed-odds market the operator sets the price, takes the bet and holds the risk, which is why the risk model behind Adkuu Pulse carries flow-weighting and liability terms: the probability is shaped by what is being bet and by what the book already holds, not only by the forecast. Staleness checks and circuit breakers cover the moments when a question's information moves faster than the odds. The margin formula is the operator's own, so the book decides how much edge it wants on each market and category. The same feed can also power a peer-to-peer exchange for operators that prefer that model, but the default product is a sportsbook market. The two models are compared in What is a betting exchange vs a sportsbook?.
Why fixed odds fits an existing sports-betting licence
Because Adkuu Pulse outputs fixed odds, it fits inside an operator's existing sports-betting licence: to the player and to the book, a market on a political or crypto question has the same shape as a match market, a posted price, a stake and a payout, rather than a traded contract with another customer on the other side. SOFTSWISS made the same choice with its April 2026 B2B prediction markets platform, which takes fixed-odds bets on real-world outcomes using sportsbook risk tools, and DATA.BET presents the Prediction Markets vertical it launched in April 2026 (iFrame plus API) as an expansion of the sportsbook offering. Scope under a specific licence remains the operator's compliance call per market, but the format does not ask a sportsbook to become an exchange.
Automated resolution
Adkuu Pulse resolves markets automatically in tiers: a market with a canonical data source resolves from that data API; one without resolves from web search; disagreement goes to consensus; and only the residue reaches human review. For a sportsbook this matters more than it sounds. A fixed-odds book pays out from its own float, so every resolution is a settlement event in its own wallet, and a resolution that is late, wrong or disputed is the operator's problem with its own customers. Adkuu's live-camera product, Lukk, answers the same problem differently, settling from signed camera frames within seconds of a window closing; the general mechanics are in How does automated market resolution work?.
Delivery in days, and what it costs
Delivery is a real-time API: REST and WebSocket, plus gRPC, carrying the probability, the margined odds and the resolution for every market. Adkuu quotes go-live in days and prices the feed as a revenue share. Operators can extend the catalogue with Magic Questions, free-text ideas that the AI structures into properly formed markets, which is how a sportsbook adds local questions its players care about without building a research desk. The product page is Adkuu Pulse; a shortlist of the European suppliers in the same space, including the iFrame and exchange-side alternatives, is in Which European Companies Provide B2B Prediction Market Feeds for Operators in 2026?.
How it compares with other formats
Prediction markets are one of several event-driven products a sportsbook can add. Sports micro-betting prices next-play markets inside a match; in-stream sports betting lays odds over a broadcast; live-camera markets such as Lukk's are written and settled from a public camera in rounds of about 90 seconds. Fixed-odds prediction markets sit at the longer end of that spectrum, with questions on politics, crypto, tech, culture, science and local events resolved from data and the public record, and the same sportsbook economics as the rest of the book.
