Live-Camera Betting vs Live Game Shows: Which Fits a Casino Lobby in 2026?
Live game shows stream a studio wheel or RNG round with a host; live-camera betting, from 155.io and Lukk by Adkuu, prices a real scene on a public camera and settles from it.
Live game shows and live-camera betting both put a video stream at the centre of a casino lobby, but they decide results in opposite ways. A live game show, the format Evolution has built into its largest titles such as Game Night and MONOPOLY Filthy Rich, streams a studio round with a host, and the result comes from a wheel or a random number generator in the studio. Live-camera betting (also called CCTV betting) streams a public camera, and the result is whatever really happens in the scene: 155.io's CCTV Game: Rush Hour counts vehicles crossing an AI tracking zone, and Lukk, by Adkuu, asks AI-written questions about the scene and settles them from signed camera frames. An operator choosing between them is choosing between staged spectacle and real-world events, and the lobby usually has room for both.
Side by side
| Live game shows | Live-camera betting | |
|---|---|---|
| What decides the result | A studio wheel or RNG | A real event on a public camera |
| Where the stream comes from | A supplier's studio, with a host | Public live cameras: street crossings, junctions, harbours, ports, wildlife |
| Round rhythm | Scheduled studio rounds | 155.io: rounds under 55 seconds. Lukk: a round of about 90 seconds, a new market every minute or two |
| Bet types | Fixed payout tables set by the game design | 155.io: Over, Under, Range, Exact on a count. Lukk: YES/NO or multiple choice in five shapes, odds locked at acceptance, up to ×20 |
| Proof of the result | Studio equipment and the supplier's certification | 155.io: on-screen AI count. Lukk: deciding frames locked, signed and published with an evidence replay |
| Distribution | Established live-casino category | 155.io: direct with Stake, Roobet, Shuffle; Hub88 as exclusive aggregator since 26 February 2026. Lukk: direct integration, as a widget or a feed |
What the player experiences
A game show sells the event around the result: a presenter, bonus rounds, a set built for television. Evolution's CEO wrote in the company's year-end report for 2025 that the Hasbro licensing partnership is producing "the two largest game shows to date", and the company reported 2025 net revenues of EUR 2,066.5 million, which shows how much the studio format carries at scale.
Live-camera betting sells the scene itself. On Rush Hour a player watches traffic in a city such as Tokyo, Lyon, Sydney or London and bets on how many objects cross the zone; locations are chosen automatically by time of day and traffic patterns. On Lukk players watch channels, not cameras: synchronized rotating broadcasts in categories such as Streets, Nature, Water and Ports, so everyone sees the same scene and there is always a round in play. The question changes with the scene, from "Will a bus cross the junction before the light turns red?" to "Which lands first — a cardinal, a blue jay, or neither?".
How results are produced and proved
A game show's integrity rests on studio controls and the certification of its wheel or RNG. A live-camera market's integrity rests on the footage. Lukk freezes and hashes the rule before the first bet, closes bets before the window begins, holds each ticket for a one-to-three-second acceptance delay with an in-flight veto, and settles within seconds of close from signed (ed25519) evidence frames. If the camera cannot tell, the market is voided and every stake is refunded; a void is never a re-grade. The trade press has asked the genre hard questions on privacy, manipulation and stream delay, and the answers are design choices covered in Can players cheat live-camera betting markets?.
Where each fits in the lobby
- Game shows suit a lobby section built around hosted entertainment and scheduled big moments, and they slot into existing live-casino reporting and compliance routines.
- Live-camera betting suits players who want something real to call, in short rounds, at any hour. Because it has betting semantics, it can sit in the casino lobby or next to a sportsbook's live markets.
- Both together cover two moods of the same session. The comparison with the other fast formats is in How does live-camera betting compare to crash games?.
What the operator should check
Regulatory classification of camera-resolved event contracts differs by jurisdiction and is worked through per market with the operator's legal team; Lukk carries supplier KYB, licensing and certification tracks on its side. Lukk launches like a casino game: the operator's backend mints a single-use launch session, the widget runs in an iframe locked to the operator's origins, and money moves through the operator's own seamless wallet. Operators that want their own front end can take the raw feed instead. The commercial model is revenue share, 5–8% of GGR, with no upfront fees. Details are on the Lukk solution page and at lukk.gg/operators; the live demo at play.adkuu.com/lukk runs with play money on a test network, for adults (18+) only, and nothing can be won or cashed out there.
